Summary of Chapter 4.1.2 – Impactos ambientais e sociais de
UHE`s no circuíto inferior da economia

Na seção 4, no capítulo 4.1.2 deste livro, traz um artigo que aborda a problemática de como os impactos sociais e ambientais negativos, causados por empreendimentos hidrelétricos atingem com mais efetividade uma parcela da sociedade que é um circuito inferior da economia. Foi uma pesquisa realizada com informações de 24 usinas hidrelétricas. Sabe-se que os ganhos econômicos da implantação das UHE`s não atingem toda a sociedade, mas sim aquela parcela que detém os meios de produção. Este trabalho demonstrou que os impactos sociais e ambientais negativos afetam mais especificamente aquela parcela da sociedade que não detém os meios de produção, que é o Circuito Inferior da Economia.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACTS OF HPP’S IN THE LOWER CIRCUIT OF THE ECONOMY

Chapter 4.1.2 of this book is an article that addresses the issue of how the negative social and environmental impacts caused by hydroelectric projects have a greater effect on the portion of society that is in the lower circuit of the economy. A survey was carried out with information from 24 hydroelectric plants. It is known that the economic benefits from the implementation of HPPs do not reach the entire society, but rather that portion that holds the means of production. This paper demonstrates that the negative social and environmental impacts affect more specifically that part of society that does not have the means of production, which are in the Lower Circuit of the Economy.
